Yes, I am a pirate 200 years too late. The cannon don't thunder. There's nothing to plunder. I've been a pirate for over 40 years. I sail on the S/V Orcasong. That's MY pirate ship. I fly the Jack Rackham flag on her. It's been a pirate's life for me, and always will. Arrr likes it. Keep it sailing for all the pirates out here, and a rum for all.

Two weeks ago we were pulling into the docks at Musket Cove, Malolo island, Fiji. The tattered Jolly Roger was flying from the top of the mainmast. We had to dock stern first "Mediteranean style", drop an anchor and back into a slot between 2 fancy new plastic-(fibreglass-or-GRP)-tricked-out-with-all-the-fancy-gadget-type yachts. A couple of fellows were waiting for our stern lines to help us tie off. A bloody pohmmy (POHM = prisoner of Her/His Majesty, what Aussies once were and now is turned around by Aussies and Kiwis to mean citizens of the UK) says to us that "some of us in this harbour resent you flying "That Flag".
"Which one...the Stars & Strips, Fijian courtesy or our real colors," one of our mates says.
"The pirate flag. It's discourteous and rude."
At which point another person on the dock told him to bugger off, stuff it and a please don't join us for cocktails. This fellow then went to his boat and hoisted his Jolly Roger!
Some people have no sense of fun!

I just wanted to let you know how pleased I was with the quality of the merchandise I purchased from your website. The items were used for an 8-year-old's birthday party and it went over wonderfully. I really liked the mini drawstring bags, fancy jeweled rings, and piņata stuffing. The kids were totally amazed with all of the really cool pirate stuff. I am here in the tiny county of Tonglu, China, where I am teaching English. Always after fun ideas for the students, I thought I'd prepare a simple 'Pirate' lesson. But after viewing this site for the past two hours, the 'simple' lesson has turned into a major affair! Unfortunately, due to time restraints, I cannot place an order for the wonderful pirate goodies -- I will have to race around like a headless chicken making treasure maps, costumes, and props etc. in time for the lesson in two days! Thank you for providing a site of such quality; with ideas that I'm sure will prove invaluable.

Ahoy maties, Jest found this 'ere site and a bloody fine site it is to be sure. I've been a piratin' down in the Virgin Islands fer the last twelve years and I arrrggg a Modern Day Pirate, havin' traded my guns and cutlasses in fer guitars, scuba equipment, and sailin' charters. Even got me a CD called A Modern Day Pirate with tunes such as the title cut (above), "Island Pirate", "Life on the Edge", "I'll Love You Forever, This Week", "I've Never Seen A Sarong Look So Right", and several more. You can check out some of the tunes at www.whitebayfreddie.com and see some of the stuff we do down on Jost Van Dyke (an island in the BVI named for a Dutch Pirate!) I spend me winters down in the islands and me summers in Tennessee. Either place, it's a pirate's life fer me! So bend yer backs, lads. There still be treasure to plunder!

Ahoy from the coast of Canaveral, site of many a wreck and many a pirate adventure (along with a few rocket shots). Outstanding site. Just on my first visit. So many things to see and to order! Pirate events have been going on here for some time both real and celebratory. The Gasparilla Pirate Festival has passed the hundred year mark in Tampa. And of course the "Wreckers" of the Florida Keys and Florida East Coast have been around for hundreds of years. And who hasn't seen substantial pirate action at a Jimmy Buffet tailgate party, or at Bike Week in Daytona, for that matter. I like to call it "piratism" (pirate/patriotism) a fine escape from reality. Our favorite local band "Absolute Blue" has pirate/wench events on a regular basis -- incredible fun. So it's not just for Halloween anymore. Here's a little jingle I wrote to honor you:

Ahoy there, mateys! Greetings from the land where many a feared an' loathsome wretch sailed to wreak havoc across the sea. When I decided to throw a pirate-themed bachelorette party, I started trawling the web for pirate-y goodies. I was having a hard enough time finding pirate plunder (specifically sophisticated pirate-y things, and not kids stuff) when the bride moved the wedding date up three months! Until I found this site, I thought it was a hopeless hunt. I got absolutely everything I needed here, plus some! And I just didn't find the best pirate merchandise here, I also found some great party ideas and inspiration. DeadMenTellNoTales.com is the ultimate! This site is the absolute BEST! It was a real life saver. And the shipping was incredibly fast! Thank you SOOoooooo much. Yaarrrrr!

I enjoyed reading your comments on Tombstone the movie. I just watched the director's cut in January of 2005. Some scenes were added from the commercial release. There are at least two more scenes with Wyatt and Mattie arguing. And, a couple more scenes with Doc. One where he says good-bye to Kate and one where he laments Morgan being killed. Also there is a scene where McMasters goes to see the Cowboys who want him back. After he refuses, the following scene is the original scene of him being dragged up to the house. Could Doc and/or Johnny speak Latin? And, whether they could or not, what the heck did they say in their confrontation?

On searching for pirate party items for my 3 soon to be 4-year-old pirate. I came across your web page. How much fun it was even for the mom. Both my boys wanted to listen to your main deck page and watch the spooky skull. So at the request of my 2 and 3 year old my shopping cart grew and I had to get the CD For the special pirate D-day party. Thanks for such a fun shopping experience enjoyed by all and I just can't wait to see the delight when our order arrives, even for me.

I love this site! I have lived on a boat all my life. Catamaran, actually. I love the water and I have been fascinated with pirates since I was just a wee one. I am an avid collector and have even been to Tortuga and Barbados. I now own a full authentic costume thanks to your site and the sword I got from it -- the Captain Rackham Cutlass. I was a sailor in the Navy, followed the Grateful Dead, when Pirates of the Caribbean came out I identified with Capt. Jack Sparrow. He was called "Mr. Smith" or "Smitty" when he entered Port Royal. Beside being odd and eccentric, there was a liberating sense of free spiritedness associated with being a Pirate, that you might find being a biker or Deadhead in these times. Live free and carry a crooked compass. Peace.
